Our story
Built from Kutus.
Built for Kenya.
A technology company that started by asking why Kenyan businesses have to settle for less — and decided to do something about it.
Where we came from
Three conversations that built a company
How it started
The restaurant owner who was invisible online
We spent a morning with the owner of a popular restaurant in Kutus — the kind of place that fills up on Friday nights and buzzes the whole day on Sunday. She had no website. She managed reservations through a personal WhatsApp group that had more forwarded voice notes than actual booking requests. When we searched for her restaurant online, nothing came up.
A smaller, quieter competitor two streets away had a basic website and was appearing in every local Google search. She was losing customers she would never even know about — people who searched, found nothing, and walked somewhere else.
We asked how many businesses she knew in the same position. She said: almost everyone.
The gap we found
Great businesses held back by the tools available to them
As we looked further, the same pattern appeared everywhere. SACCO secretaries spending two hours every morning answering balance enquiries on a phone, one member at a time, from a ledger written in two different people's handwriting. Clinic receptionists managing appointment books across two competing notebooks, creating double-bookings every week. Hardware shops tracking stock on paper that got wet in the rains.
These were not failing businesses. They were well-run, trusted, profitable operations — held back by the gap between the digital tools available to large companies in Nairobi and the practical reality of building an SME in Kirinyaga County.
Affordable, professional digital tools existed — but they were built for markets that looked nothing like Kenya. They assumed fast internet, credit card payments, English-only users, and IT teams to manage them. None of those assumptions held here.
Why we built Technosworld
A permanent partner, not another vendor
We didn't want to be another freelancer who builds a website and disappears when the maintenance becomes complicated. We didn't want to be a Nairobi agency charging rates that assume a Westlands budget and sending a consultant who has never been to Kirinyaga to "understand your needs."
Technosworld exists to be the permanent digital partner for businesses across Kenya — close enough to understand your market, skilled enough to build enterprise-quality systems, and honest about what your business actually needs versus what would look good on our portfolio.
We are being built for the long term, from Kutus, for Africa.
Our principles
What we stand for
Purpose-built for Kenya
We don't copy-paste solutions built for London or Silicon Valley. We design systems around M-Pesa, Safaricom SMS, WhatsApp Business, and the realities of doing business in East Africa — from the network speeds to the languages to the payment habits.
The long view, not the quick job
We measure our success in years, not invoices. We stick around — training your team, updating your systems as your business changes, and responding when something breaks. Your growth is what keeps us in business.
Straight-talking on cost
We tell you the price before we start, explain every component, and don't charge extra when you need another revision. No hidden maintenance fees. No surprise invoices. No rate that suddenly doubles once we're midway through a project.

TechpointPOS — our first shipped product
Before Technosworld had a marketing site, we shipped a product. TechpointPOS is our SaaS point-of-sale platform built for Kenyan retailers — supporting electronics shops, mobile phone dealers, hardware stores, beauty and cosmetics businesses, and furniture outlets.
It handles sales, inventory, receipts, and reporting — with M-Pesa integration built in from day one. It is the proof that we don't just talk about building for Kenya; we already have.
